Place value and Face value In this section we will learn about Place value and Face value of a digit present in a number. Place value of a digit in a number desribes its position in that number. Each digit has a place in a number. When we write a number in general form, the position of each digit is expanded. Those positions are ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and so on. Face value:- Face value of a digit in a number is equal to the value of the digit itself at whatever place it is situated. In other words, Face value of a digit is always equal to that digit. In this we didn't see the place of the digit. face value Face Value of a digit = digit itself e.g.- Let's take a number 4 5 3, in which we have to find Face value of underlined digit 5. Face value of 5 = 5 we can find face value of rest of the digits of given number- Face value of 3 = 3 Face value of 4
