Place value and Face value

Image
Place value and Face value          In this section we will learn about Place value and Face value of a digit present in a number.          Place value of a digit in a number desribes its position in that number. Each digit has a place in a number. When we write a number in general form, the position of each digit is expanded. Those positions are ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and so on. Face value:-                           Face value of a digit in a number is equal to the value of the digit itself at whatever place it is situated.                          In other words, Face value of  a digit is always equal to that digit. In this we didn't see the place of the digit. face value Face Value of a digit = digit itself e.g.- Let's take a number 4 5 3, in which we have to find Face value of  underlined digit 5.   Face value of 5 = 5 we can find face value of rest of the digits of given number- Face value of 3 =  3 Face value of 4

Roman Numerals or  Roman Numbers Roman Numerals or Roman Numbers are system of numerical notations used by Romans.  This is an additive and subtractive system in which letter are used denote certain 'base' numbers, and arbitrary numbers are then denoted using combinations of symbols.             Roman Numerals or Roman Numbers are represented by seven defferent letters I, V, X, L, C, D and M. Which represent the numbers 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 respectively. These seven letters are used to make thousands of numbers. e.g.- (1) Roman numeral for 2 is written as 'II', just two one's added together.         (2)  Roman numeral for 3 is written as 'III', just three one's added together. Origin of Roman Numerals                                                                           There is many theory proposed in respect of origin of Roman Numerals but the most well known theory for the origin of the roman Numerals of Roman Num

Numeral System Numeral System or System of Numeration:-  A Numeral System or System of Numeration is a writing system for expressing number. There are three types of numeral system- 1. Decimal Numeral System-  Use in measuring and counting 2. Roman Numeral System - Use in notation 3.Binary Numeral System -Use in computer only   Before discussing about system we have to know some key points- Digit:-  Digits are a single symbol used to make a numeral.       e.g.- In decimal system the numeral 2 is made up of only one digit 2. Number:-  A number is a mathematical object used to count, measure or label. or in other words we can say " A number is a unit that forms part of system of counting and calculating.     e.g.- 10, 25, 555, etc all are numbers. In this section we will discuss about Decimal Numeral System. Decimal Numeral System:-  Decimal Numeral System is based on 10 digits that is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,                                                 7, 8 and
